Start the weekend with shopping at Maasmechelen Village, followed by a walk to the Terhills viewpoint and a 3-course dinner at the hotel.
Shopping at Maasmechelen Village
We started the weekend with a shopping stop at Maasmechelen Village. This outlet village has a mix of designer brands, perfect if you’re looking to pick up some branded items for a better price. In between browsing the shops, we took a coffee break at Le Pain Quotidien. There are also several food trucks around with both sweet and savoury snacks, great for a quick bite while you shop.
Checking in at Terhills Hotel
Maasmechelen Village is just a five-minute walk from Terhills Hotel, which makes it an ideal place to stay during a weekend of shopping and walking. You can head out for a walk or shopping trip without ever needing the car.
Walk to the floating cycling bridge viewpoint
After dropping off your luggage in the room, you can head straight out to explore the national park, which is located right next to the hotel. If you’re up for a nice viewpoint over the floating cycling bridge, you can follow the green walking route, which is about 4 km long. This trail takes you through peaceful nature and leads to a lookout point with a great view over the well-known bridge. It’s a calm and easy walk, perfect if you don’t feel like going too far but still want to enjoy the views.
Three-course dinner at Terhills Hotel
After an active day, you can enjoy a three-course dinner at the hotel in the evening. For those with a bigger appetite, there’s also the option to go for four or even five courses. The meal starts with a small amuse, and house wine and water are included in the menu. A cosy and tasty dinner to end the day.
