What to do in Krka National Park

Krka national park, located between Zadar and Split, is known for its waterfalls and crystal-clear lakes. A highlight that can't be missed when travelling through Croatia. Navigate to the main entrance in Lozovac with your (rental) car and enjoy your day! 🌞

Skradinski Buk Waterfall

Start your day at the most popular waterfall of Krka National Park: Skradisnki Buk. Popular also means crowded and you can expect a big crowd here. Take the Lozovac entrance and follow the signs for Skradisnki Buk. From the parking lot, you can walk to the waterfall or take the shuttle. Since it's not that far and it's downhill, I recommend walking there and taking the shuttle back. An easily accessible hiking trail runs around the waterfall and takes about an hour of walking. During the walk, you have a beautiful view of the waterfall from different angles. And you walk past smaller pools, lakes and streams with clear blue water and smaller waterfalls.

Ivoševci, Croatia

Seek out adventure at Manojlovac Falls

My favourite! This waterfall is hidden in nature and it takes some effort to get there. The first part is easy, following a hiking trail. Along the way, you'll come across beautiful viewpoints. At a certain point, you have to leave the path, walk through the ruins of a watermill, and climb down holding onto a rope. After 30 to 45 minutes you'll reach the waterfall. Unlike at Skradinski Buk, you can swim at this waterfall. At least, if you dare to brave the cold water. 💦 Chances are high you'll have this place all to yourself.

Roski waterfall, Šetnica Roški Slap - Visovac, Bogatić, Croatia

Roški Slap waterfall

The Roški Slap waterfall can only be viewed from a distance. The viewpoint is located in a nice spot where you can relax and sit down by the water. For a view from above, follow one of the hiking trails and walk up (intensive!). If you want to see the waterfall up close, go for a boat excursion.

Visovac Monastery, Brištane, Croatia

View of the monastery on tiny Visovac Island

Visovac is a tiny island in the middle of the river with the Visovac Monastery on it. On the way between Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap, you will pass a viewpoint with a great view of the island. When you're almost at the viewpoint, you drive through a small village and the road gets very narrow. The first thing that will come to your mind is that you have taken a wrong turn. Nothing is less true. Leave your car behind in the village and walk the last kilometre to the viewpoint.
