In one of the oldest buildings in the city, a half-timbered house dating back to 1436, you’ll find the Theodor Storm Literature Museum. The permanent exhibition showcases the life and work of this poet and writer.
Children can search for the various seagulls hidden throughout the museum to earn a reward. Theodor Storm originally lived on the North Sea coast in northern Germany, but due to political unrest he had to temporarily seek shelter elsewhere. This is how he came to spend seven years of his life in Heilbad Heiligenstadt.
Recently, an artistic addition was made to the museum to bring the fairy tale of Regentrude to life.
This small-scale museum can be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
