Lake Navaisha

From safari parks, we move more inland Kenya for an active stop: Lake Navaisha. Get ready for some biking, hiking, couleur locale and a boat ride. Really loved how laid-bike the atmosphere was here, so I'd recommend to stay a minimum of two nights.

Stay at Chui Lodge

The best kept secret in the Lake Navaisha area is without a doubt Chui Lodge. Located in a private sanctuary, it's not only a perfect base location to explore the region - but also an interesting place for exciting game drives. Chui Lodge is home to just a handful of traditionally designed cottages, making the whole experience very intimate. It felt very authentic and at ease here, wish we could stay even longer. Loved the private wildlife viewing hut right in front of our coffee. What better place for a morning coffee, overlooking buffalo's and giraffes waking up? - this trip was made in collaboration with Brussels Airlines, that flies directly from Brussels to Nairobi.

Boat trip on Lake Navaisha

Swap a safari jeep with a boat on Lake Navaisha. The lake is located in the Kenya's Great Rift Valley and truly an oasis of tranquility. We felt at ease from the moment we hopped on the little canoe. It's quite a touristy place, yet that's not disturbing at all. Watch African eagles catch a fish, waterbucks & zebras grazing and the hilly landscape turn into a real-life painting. Start your boat trip from Karagita Beach for the best chances on wildlife spotting. When you hop off after about an hour, don't hesitate to buy some local food from the local stalls here. Super authentic! - this trip was made in collaboration with Brussels Airlines, that flies directly from Brussels to Nairobi.

Get active in Hell's Gate National Park

Time for some movement! Rent a bike in Hell's Gate National Park to get active in a beautiful, natural scenery. We enjoyed a ride passing through rock formations and grazing wildlife (all safe 😊). Very nice as a variety next to traditional game drives. At the end of the bike trip, we topped off our active day with a 45' loop hike in the gorge. Beautiful to say the least. For a more adventurous experience, you can also go rockclimbing in this area. - this trip was made in collaboration with Brussels Airlines, that offers direct flights from Brussels to Nairobi.

Lunch at the Sanctuary Farm

If you have an open spot for lunch in Lake Navaisha, don't hesitate & go to the Sanctuary Farm. This restaurant makes farm-fresh dishes from their own garden and serves it in a very trendy setting. Feels a bit European even, but in a good way.
