The Ochre Path, located in the charming village of Roussillon, is one of the most surprising nature walks in Provence. The path takes you through a landscape of red sandstone and pine forests.
There are two possible hiking routes: a short loop (30 minutes) and a slightly longer one (50 minutes). We chose the longer hike and did it a bit faster than the estimated time.
Good hiking shoes are handy, as the fine ochre sand easily sticks to your feet or clothes. A must for those who love unique landscapes and/or photography.
An entrance ticket for the ochre quarry costs €3.5 per person. The parking located at Le Sentier des Ocres costs €4 for a whole day. You can also leave the car here for a visit to Roussillon.
