Where to stay in the West of Mallorca?

Undoubtedly, the most beautiful places to stay in Mallorca are located in the Tramuntana Mountains, which dominate the western flank of the island. If you want to stay in an idyllic mountain village, I would recommend Sóller, Deià, or Valldemossa. If you’re seeking a seaside destination, go to the scenic towns of Port de Pollença and Port de Sóller. We booked an Airbnb in the heart of Valldemossa with a sunny terrace and on walking distance from the town centre.

A stroll through sunny Valldemossa

Valldemossa is a charming town nestled in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains in Mallorca. Its allure comes from its timeless appeal, medieval architecture, and stunning natural landscape. The town center features stone buildings with green shutters and narrow, cobblestone streets adorned with potted plants. Many homes proudly display colorful tiles illustrating the life of Santa Catalina Thomás (Catherine of Palma), the saint who was born in Valldemossa in 1533. Mornings in Valldemossa are peaceful and serene, while afternoons become bustling with visitors.

Ensaimadas for lunch

Ensaimadas are a traditional Mallorcan pastry. They are delicious and a comparison to the classic croissant is not far away. Though more delicious. The best ensaimadas are sold at Ca’n Molinas. This charming pastry shop is renowned for its artisanal treats, offering a selection of traditional Mallorcan pastries and sweets. Take them out or eat them in.
