Hike to the Ingolstadter Haus
Start your holiday in Saalachtal off strong with a 23 kilometer hike out and back to the Ingolstadter Haus. In the evening, treat yourself to the modern cuisine of Alma in Lofer.

Hike to Ingolstädter Haus
Ready for a breathtaking hike in Saalachtal? Go to the Ingolstädter Haus from Weißbach. The hike begins fairly easy to Pürzlbach. From now on, the real nature experience begins. Along beautiful paths, alms and forestry roads, you hike up to the beautifully-situated Kallbrunnalm, which also has an alm hut selling refreshments. A couple of hundred metres later, there is a second place to stop for refreshments, the Kashütte. The next section leads to the impressive Dießbachstausee. Unfortunately, at this stage of the hike you will have to climb a steep path upwards and then downwards again at the end of the stausee. Afterwards, the path continues continuously uphill in increasingly alpine terrain to the Ingolstädter Haus at 2.100 meters. If you still fancy conquering a summit, you can climb the Kleiner Hundstod or the Schindlköpfe from the hut. Stay there for the night and continue your journey to another hut, or return same way.

Dinner at Alma in Lofer
No schnitzels, no knödels: Alma has a different take on food in Austria. It combines Latin and Spanish influences with other European cuisines. The result? Delicious food, a cozy setting in an old hotel building in Lofer, Salzburg and wonderful service. Definitely try the asparagus, spring lasagna and the roaster cauliflower leaves.
