Discover the historic center of Granada
Start with the Granada Cathedral. Built on the site of a former mosque, construction began in 1523 and took 181 years. Inside, you'll find a black-and-white tiled floor and a magnificent Gothic ceiling. Walk through La Alcaicería, an old Arab market which was once a bustling silk bazaar. Today, it's filled with small shops selling souvenirs, ceramics, and spices. We thought it looked similar to the souks in Marrakesh! Walk your way up to Los Carvajales viewpoint. A great spot to see the Alhambra, this viewpoint is less crowded than Mirador de San Nicolás (read below). When walking to this viewpoint, you’ll pass the Kiss Wall, a wall kissed by strangers passing by :) Next up: the Albaicín Neighborhood. This is the old Moorish quarter of Granada, and it’s stunning! Located on a hill facing the Alhambra, it has narrow, winding streets, Moorish houses and churches, and cozy squares. It feels very authentic.
The best view
The viewpoint that offers the best views of the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background is definetely Mirador de San Nicolás. Especially during sunset! It gets very crowded as well ;)
