Tegalalang Rice Terrace, located near Ubud, is one of Bali’s most iconic landscapes. You can stroll along narrow paths, take in the panoramic views, or try the famous Bali swings for an adrenaline rush.
The entrance fee to the terraces is 25,000 IDR, with scooter parking typically costing around 5,000 IDR. There are two main entrances to the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. The Main Entrance located on the main road is the most popular, providing easy access to the terraces and nearby attractions like the iconic swings and cafés. On the other hand, the Alternative Entrance, located on the quieter side of the terraces, offers a more peaceful experience for those seeking intimacy and tranquility away from the crowds. Take a right onto the main road and continue driving until you reach Warung Pak Damex.
While Tegalalang is undeniably stunning, you should be mindful of common scams. Some locals set up unofficial donation points along the paths, claiming the funds are for maintenance. Individuals dressed in traditional attire may offer props or photo setups, which can be a fun experience, but it’s essential to clarify costs beforehand to avoid surprises.
For the best experience, visit the terraces early in the morning, ideally before 10:00 AM, to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. By around 9:30 AM, tourist buses typically start to arrive.
