There’s something truly magical about wandering the streets of Kyoto. Every corner reveals something beautiful—whether it’s a tucked-away shrine, a centuries-old wooden townhouse, or the quiet charm of locals going about their day.
One of our favorite moments was having gnocchi at a traditional tea house run by women, passed down through the same family for over 200 years. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food absolutely comforting.
We also picked up some incredible matcha powder and handmade sweets from a tiny 80-year-old shop, where the owner—an elderly gentleman with the kindest smile—happily explained the different blends and their flavors.
Kyoto is full of these little gems. Just take a walk, stay curious, and the city will surprise you at every turn.
