Little Adam’s Peak and visit to tea plantations
The next day, we climb Little Adam’s Peak. The mountain lives up to its name, as we reached the top in less than half an hour. A visit to a tea plantation is also a must. We follow a tea picker who swiftly fills her basket barefoot. Over a hundred people work on the tea plantation, tasked with plucking twenty kilograms of tea leaves daily. The majority of the work is done in the morning due to the difficulty of working in the afternoon heat and humidity. We join in to help and are surprised by how strenuous the work is, though we already had a great deal of respect for those who toil in the fields, rain or shine. The next day will be a travel day.

Hike Little Adam’s Peak
As the name might suggest, hiking Little Adam’s Peak takes little time. You can climb up in only 15 to 30 minutes if you park at the Ravana Pool Club. Most of the hike will be done by walking up the stairs, but there is also a little bit of climbing involved to reach the summit, where the breathtaking view awaits.
