Jordan
Passing by Aqaba
When we were making our planning, we had some spare days left to spend our time in Jordan, so we decided to stay in Aqaba, one of Jordan's bigger cities. As it was located near the beach, we thought it would be a good start for our few days of relaxing to end our holidays. However, our stay at the Baity Boutique Hotel, the beach and the city were very underwhelming. Aqaba does have a nice part called 'Ayla' which is a newer district in the city with lots of cozy restaurants and boutique stores. In contrast to the rest of Jordan, there are also some really nice bars in this area, so at least we enjoyed our evening in Aqaba.
Visiting Aqaba's new part, Ayla
Ayla is a new part in Aqaba, built to attract more tourism to one of the main cities of Jordan. When walking around in the district, you feel that it's created purely for tourists, but it was nice to also have a change of scenery in restaurants and bars. We got there purely by accident, as the restaurant where we wanted to eat, was located in this part of Aqaba. It was definitely a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed our night out with good food and some beers in Ayla.
