Skiing in the Erwahler mountains

A fantastic and exciting ski day in the shadow of the Zugspitze. Ehrwald has it all: skiing trails for every skier, pitoresque huts to drink something and to enjoy the après-ski vibes afterwards.

Start the day right with a fantastic breakfast

What you can expect from the breakfast at Das Halali? It's a feast for lovers of all things homemade, local and delicious! You can find cheeses and cold cuts, homemade spreads and dips (the egg salad is to die for), homemade Bircher Müsli (this is also a must-try ;)), local bread, jams, fresh fruit,... The ideal start of an active mountain day!

Take the ski bus, it's easy and it stops near the Hotel!

Skiing on the slopes of Ehrwald

From the Ehrwalder Almbahn you have 27,5 km of pistes available. There's something for everyone! Blue, red, black,...Their are 7 lifts in total. Enough to discover for a few days! And if you're keen on more slopes, you can always head out to the Zugspitze! Although the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany (just under 3,000 meters high), the ski areas of the Zugspitz Arena are mostly in Austria. Because you can also ski on the glacier here, you can also ski here when the lower parts of the arena aren't covered in snow anymore. On the Ehrwalder Almbahn, you can find some very cosy huts. Our favourite hut is the Ehrwalder Alm. Try their soups or salads, they were great!

Dinner at the Holzerstub'n

After a day of adventure around the Eibsee, indulge in an authentic culinary experience at Holzerstub'n. This charming restaurant offers a taste of Bavarian tradition, serving up hearty dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. From tender schnitzels to bratwurst, the menu is a celebration of Bavarian cuisine at its finest. Settle into the cozy ambiance of the dining room, with its typical Austrian decor. A dinner at Holzerstub'n is the perfect ending to your day of exploration. I tried the Schnitzel and it was everything you want a typical Austrian Schnitzel to be ;-).
