France
the beautiful city center
Get lost in the many streets of the cozy city center.

The tourist center - always a good idea
Start your visit at the most beautiful square in the city: Place de la Cathédrale. You will find the tourist center in the beautifully restored former Finance building.

Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral
Opposite the tourist center, you can see the impressive Notre-Dame Cathedral. Be sure to go inside and take a look. And also walk around the cathedral and discover the cozy courtyard.

Admire the many half-timbered houses in the area (including in Rue Saint-Romain and Rue Saint-Nicolas)
The beautiful half-timbered houses can be found throughout the city center and give the city a special, authentic atmosphere.

Saint-Maclou church
Behold the beautiful facade of the Saint-Maclou church.

Aître Saint-Maclou
At the tilted timber-framed house (Rue Martainville 184), you enter Aître Saint-Maclou, a grim yet soothing square with beautiful timber framing. On this square, many victims of the plague epidemic were burned. The reliefs of the frames above the doors and facades also evoke death. You see skulls, bones, and materials from the grave diggers carved into the wood.

Walk through the narrowest street in Rouen, the Rue du Petit-Mouton
No room to walk past each other ;-)

Saint-Ouen Abbey
The impressive abbey church is empty and thus gives a grand impression. If you're lucky, the organist is rehearsing and you can enjoy the beautiful tones of the organ. A goosebumps moment. Be sure to also visit the gardens around the abbey, you have a beautiful view of the back and side of the abbey church.

Notre Dame by light
Make sure to go at 11 PM for the light spectacle ‘Notre Dame by light’: every year from June to September at dusk, beautiful light creations are displayed on the facade of the cathedral. A spectacular light show that you must not miss.
