Naoshima, the magical art island of Japan, is a true hidden gem in the Seto Inland Sea. We arrived by ferry after a scenic 30-minute ride, already sensing we were heading somewhere special. Upon arrival, we checked into the serene Hotel Rokan Roka, nestled between nature and minimal design. We explored several world-class museums including Chichu Art Museum, Benesse House, and the quirky Art House Project scattered through the village. A top tip: rent a bike to discover the island — within just an hour, you can circle the entire island at a relaxing pace. The mix of art, architecture, sea breeze, and tranquility made Naoshima one of the most unforgettable places we’ve ever visited.
