Waking up by the most beautiful African sunrises & sounds of wildlife, falling asleep under one of the most breathtaking skies in the world - Namibia is a paradise for camping lovers. Camping is very popular in Namibia. There are hundreds of campsites all over the country from the Namib Desert in the south to the wetlands in the north or even in Etosha National Park. Some of the campsites are truly unique and offer an amazing experience in some of the most remote places in Namibia. Next to the wonderful experience, is camping the cheapest accommodation option in Namibia. If you’re planning a self-drive road trip and don’t want to break your budget try to camp as much as you can. Make sure to choose your campsites wisely and prepare yourself. Before heading off into the desert, make sure you do some shopping to stock up on some food and drinks. Also make sure to check the facilities of your campsite upfront, some of the basic campsites sometimes do not even have running water and electricity. Other campsite may offer an additional cabin, including a personal shower and toilet. Camping in Namibia is something we really recommend for everyone, especially those who love nature, adventure and wildlife. Ps. Wild camping is not allowed in Namibia as it’s just not safe. On top of that, many campsites are locally owned and an important income for the community. The campsites provided to tourists are for that reason from outstanding quality so please make use of them.
