Day 6 - Holbox exploration
Holbox is famous for two things. The two seasons swap with each other, so depending when you visit you can see one of the both. One of them is Whalesharks and the other one is bioluminescence.
The wildlife on Holbox island
Holbox is very famous for its whale shark season. The season starts in May and it's on its peak in July and August, and that's also where it ends. Out of the whale shark season there is the bioluminescent season. This is a very cool thing to see. It's little things in the water that give light through movement, if there are a lot of these it looks like there is everywhere blue light in the water. *disclaimer, this pictures are not taken in Holbox.
Walk into the little town of Holbox
Marquesitaaaa time
After your meal (and please go eat some taco's) it's time for a local desert. This desert is called marquesita. You can find it in a little food truck on the main square next to the playground. It looks like a crepe but in a hard form. You could say it's a crunchy crepe. For the full experience you order it with Nutella and on top of that grated cheese, but I'm not a huge fan of that combo so I keep it with Nutella.
