Day 11 - Tulum on it's best
Tulum is mostly famous from its fancy 'hotelzone'. Although it's a bit of a more expensive experience, you have to at least to it once in your life. Inside here I'll share how to enjoy it, but to keep it still as cheap as possible.
A magical night staying on Tulum beach - Cheap Option
Staying at Tulum beach is expensive. That's a facts sadly, but I recently found one exception for that. The famous chain 'Selina' hostel build a property directly on Tulum beach. It's actually unreal that you can just stay between all the fancy hotels in one of their hostel rooms. For a dormitory bunkbed you pay 4o euro, which is in my opinion very affordable for what you get. The rooms are cozy, and on top of that you have free access and sunbeds included in the price. That last thing makes it a really good deal, since you normally pay min. 30 euro pp for the sunbed use only on Tulum beach. The hostel offers next that, also activities that you can book for an extra fee, like Yoga, a traditional temazcal, transport to Tulum pueblo and so on. Definitely recommended to spend a night or 2 in this beautiful hostel.
Renting a scooter in Tulum costs around 20 euro a day
A magical night staying on Tulum beach - Expensive Option 1 UMI
You could also treat yourself to go in one of the beautiful hotels in the Tulum hotelzone. In the pictures you can see first 'UMI hotel' this is a brand new hotel that gives a cozy more exclusive vibe. The interior is darker and abstract. I love their location and they serve amazing food. Check prices with the hotel itself, it variates with the season you want to go.
Take a walk through the beautiful hotelzone.
A magical night staying on Tulum beach - Expensive Option 2 LULA
Second one that I went to is 'LULA' this one is located almost next to UMI. The vibe of this hotel is overal more bright. It's also more child friendly and they offer amazing Yoga classes. Everyone there is extremely friendly and the overal vibe is just really nice. Check prices with the hotel itself, it variates with the season you want to go.
Enjoy Tulum beach in one of the funky beach bars
If staying a night in a hotel is too expensive for you, you could also enjoy them in their beach bars. Most of the hotels have their beach areas that are over day open for public. They will ask you to spend for a minimum amount of consumption. This means you have to order food and drinks for this minimum amount. This can variate between 30 to 100 euro pp depending on where you go. You get a nice big sunbed with some good music, mostly delivered by a DJ. I must say that these bars are pricy but the food and drinks experience that you will have is just amazing, especially combined by the beautiful beach.
