Hoi An: The art of taking it slow
Hoi An: Yellow walls, lanterns, and warm nights Hoi An felt like a soft exhale after the chaos of the north. It’s slower here—quiet bikes instead of scooters, lanterns glowing in every street, the scent of incense and spices floating in the air. I’d start the day with a slow stroll through the Old Town, coffee in hand, stopping to browse at tailor shops or pick up delicious food at the market. Evenings were for wandering by the river and watching the lanterns float. In between it all, I’d spend time unwinding at the resort — swimming, reading, doing nothing at all. The calm felt like a luxury. We also visited a small silk factory just outside the city, where we watched each step of the weaving process up close. It was quiet and fascinating — seeing the care behind every thread made me look at fabrics differently. Hoi An is one of those places that just feels good to be in. It’s gentle, charming, and easy to fall in love with.
