D-Day in one day
We spent a day along the Normandy coast, where the history of D-Day is still felt everywhere. From quiet beaches to impressive memorial sites, a day full of impressions and memories.

Pointe du Hoc
Pointe du Hoc is an impressive cliff between Omaha and Utah Beach, where American Rangers climbed on D-Day with ropes and ladders to take out a German battery. Today, you can walk among deep craters, bunkers, and rugged cliffs, a silent witness to the fierce battle that took place here. The view of the sea is beautiful, but the history hangs heavily in the air. Note that our dog was not allowed to go there! However, you can walk with your dog on the bike path, which also leads you to the top of the cliffs and gives you a beautiful view of Pointe du Hoc in the distance.

Lunch at 'la Crêperie de Formigny'
Enjoy a delicious and typical crêpe, definitely a recommendation.

Normandy American cemetery and memorial
The Normandy American cemetery and memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer is an impressive and serene place, located above Omaha Beach. More than 9,000 white crosses and stars lie in perfect lines, as a tribute to the American soldiers who gave their lives during the liberation of Europe. The location, the sea view, and the silence make it a particularly moving place that touches deeply.

Arromanches-les-Bains
In Arromanches-les-Bains, we enjoyed a walk through the charming coastal town, overlooking the remains of the Mulberry harbor. We strolled along the beach, breathed in the sea air, and concluded the visit with a delicious ice cream in the sunshine.

Delicious dining at Bonbonne
At Bonbonne, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in a warm atmosphere. Each dish was carefully prepared and perfectly balanced, a true taste sensation. Attentive and friendly service and a beautiful interior completed the evening. A culinary recommendation!
