In Köpmannebro, we found a hidden gem: SwedishCountryLiving, a serene retreat with charming wooden cabins and a cozy cottage, run by Marie and David. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with open arms and gave a thorough tour of their sustainable haven, sharing their love for country life.
Each cabin has its own outdoor fire pit, perfect for brewing fresh coffee or tea in the morning (which we surely tested out). With no electricity inside, the candlelights also add a romantic and authentic touch in the evening.
For dinner, we rolled up our sleeves and made our own pizza in the outdoor kitchen, picking from a bunch of fresh toppings (straight from their garden). Marie, our host, gave us a quick demonstrations on how to make the best pizza.
The next morning, after having a delicious breakfast in the orangerie, we set out in a canoe for a serene 1.5-hour glide across the lake. The water was so still it mirrored the clouds above, and we didn’t see another soul. Staying here was like stepping into a slower, more mindful way of living. A really peaceful experience!
