After Madeira, my boyfriend and I spent a few more days in Lisbon, because when you visit Portugal, a trip to this beautiful capital is a must! This city has everything you need and more;
𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐚
Our B&B was in Alfama, a historic neighborhood in the center of Lisbon. Alfama is known for its charming narrow streets, old buildings adorned with beautiful tile patterns, and many cozy restaurants and bars. Our top tip: look for ‘ten-table spots’! These tiny restaurants often have the best food, fantastic service, and an incredible atmosphere.
Alfama was a wonderful place to stay—nicely central and within walking distance of the modern center. Getting around was easy; we could quickly take a train, Uber, tram, or ferry to explore more of the city and surrounding areas.
So, here are our Lisbon favorites:
𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭
- Copenhagen Coffee Lab
- Augusto
- Breakfast Lovers
- The Folks
- Alfama Dolce (for the best pastel de nata)
𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬
- Prado Wine Bar
- Alfama Cellar
- Antiga Wine Bar
- Miss Can - for drinks
- Infame
𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬
- Praia de São Pedro
- Praia da Rainha Cascais
- Praia do Castello
One thing is certain: We’re far from finished with Portugal! We definitely want to explore more of this beautiful country, and a second visit to Lisbon is absolutely on the cards!
