Hike PR6 - 25 Fontes and Risco Waterfall
Levadas are irrigation canals and very typical of Madeira. They were built in the 16th century to transport water across the island and women even used them to wash clothes. The PR6 is a walk along the levadas of about 12 kilometers of which the level of difficulty is not too bad. At the beginning of the hike you have to go through a long tunnel, so don't forget to bring your flashlight. This hike takes you to 2 waterfalls, where in the second one you can also swim, in ice cold water!
