Discovering eastern Jeju
Hiking to the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong, relaxing on the beach and ending with pizza in Jeju City.

Hiking to the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong
One of our highlights on Jeju! Known as Sunrise Peak, Seongsan Ilchulbong is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-see. This volcanic tuff cone emerged from the sea in an eruption over 100,000 years ago. There are two hiking trails on the Seongsan Ilchulbong peninsula. A free one along the coast and to a nearby beach. And a paid trail to the crater. I recommend doing the crater hike first. After just 20 minutes you'll reach the top to get a magnificent view of the bowl-like crater and the surrounding sea. Once back at the bottom, follow the free path.

Different view of Seongsan Ilchulbong
After the hike, head to Gwangchigi Beach for a great view of Seongsan Ilchulbong. If you're lucky, you can see Haenyeo, traditional female divers who free-dive 20 metres deep to collect abalone, conch and sea cucumbers. A remarkable sight! Another spot to see these ladies harvesting seafood is at Hado Fishing Village.

Relaxing at Hamdeok Beach
What better way to spend the rest of the day than unwinding at a beautiful beach with clear blue water and gentle waves? Hamdeok Beach is perfect for that! Nearby Cafe Delmoondo is ideal for a coffee, cocktail or snack.

Pizza at Bluebird by Magpie
A popular Jeju brewery, known for its laid-back atmosphere and tasty pizzas. A great way to end your Jeju adventure!
