On our way back home we spent a little under 24h back in Porto. More than enough to experience a sunny afternoon and beautiful sunset along the borders of the Douro river.

Checking in to our boutique hotel Pur Oporto

After arriving in Porto we go directly to our hotel for check-in. This beautiful boutique hotel is the perfect ending of our holiday. The lobby, hallways and room are well designed and the room has everything you expect in a boutique hotel: perfect beds, large bathroom and some small design elements. The location is on the famous walking street Rua de Santa Catarina.

Chapel of Souls

On the same street as our hotel you'll find this beautiful chapel. It is decorated from top to bottom with decorative blue & white tiles. Quite a sight to see!

Ponte Luis I & Jardim do Morro

It's a sunny Sunday afternoon and everyone is out exploring the city. There is a lot of people enjoying the beautiful views on top of this monumental bridge overlooking the Douro river. On the other side of the bridge you'll find a little park called "Jardim do Morro"

Apéro on the border of the river

We end our trip with a cheese & charcuterie platter paired with a Porto Tonic at Quinta do Noval Port House. And this while overlooking the famous river & bridge of Porto. We can't think of any better way to cheers on one week of relaxing and enjoying Portugal at its best.

Sunset walk back to the hotel

Tomorrow morning we fly back very early in the morning. So we go for an early bedtime. But not before we've experienced a spectacular sunset from the Ponte Luis I bridge back towards the city center.
