Hike to Hochalmscharte

Want a wonderful view over the Wimmbach Valley? Hike up to the Hochalmscharte. This saddle offers an incredible vista over the valley. To reach this viewpoint, there are two ways: 1. Go from the Wimmbachbrücke. This is a fairly difficult option, with some steep and via ferrata sections. 2. Go from Ramsau / Hintersee. This way is easier, but covers the same altitude gain (over 900 m) Supposing you go from Ramsau, take the forststrasse towards the Blaueishütte. This is a physically demanding but technically easy route. When you have arrived at the Schartenalm, take a left and follow the "Steig" towards Hochalm(scharte). This steig is quite exposed at some points and the path is narrow. Wear sturdy shoes with enough grip. After the steig, make your way up and come across two more alms before reaching the viewpoint that looks over the neighbouring valley. For the way back you can take the same route or descend towards Eckaualm and end in Ramsau. In short: Distance: 15,4 km Altitude gain: 997 moh Difficulty: moderate
