Berchtesgaden, Germany: a small corner in southern Germany, tucked away in the Alps. The only part of Germany that has so many wonderful mountains, with the Watzman peaking above all the others. If you are up for a short vacation filled with beautiful hikes, crystal clear lakes and good traditional food, Berchtesgaden is the place to be. Make sure not to go in high season (june-august), as it can get quite crowded with tourists but also don't go too early because of late snowfall and closed huts due to low season.
