Hin Bus Depot & Khing Cafè
Our next stop in George Town took us to one of the city’s most creative corners: Hin Bus Depot. Once an abandoned bus station, it has been transformed into a vibrant arts space filled with colorful murals, quirky installations, and a laid-back, hipster vibe. After soaking up the artistic atmosphere, we took a break at the cozy Khing Café, the perfect spot to relax with a drink and watch the world and the art, go by.

Hin Bus Depot
Hin Bus Depot quickly became one of our favorite discoveries in George Town. This former bus station transforms into a lively art and market space on weekends, and it’s definitely worth planning your visit around. The atmosphere is vibrant yet laid-back, with local artists and makers each having their own little stalls, showcasing everything from handmade crafts to unique artwork. The market is also a great spot to grab a casual lunch, with plenty of food options to choose from. As we wandered through the stands, a local band provided live music, while a DJ a bit further away kept the energy going with upbeat tunes. The mix of art, food, and music created a fun, creative vibe that made us want to linger. Spending a morning or afternoon here is an absolute must if you want to experience George Town’s local culture in a relaxed and colorful way.

Khing Cafè
During our visit to Penang, we stopped by the charming Khing Café, a beautifully designed spot that immediately caught our attention. The cozy and stylish interior created the perfect atmosphere to relax, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. We tried their coffee, which was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Khing Café is not only a treat for coffee lovers but also a lovely place to unwind and enjoy the vibrant Penang café scene.
