Croatia
Croatia - Slunj
After being blown away by Slovenian nature for a few days, we continue our journey to Croatia. Our first stop is in Slunj.

Tree Elements
We stay 2 nights in this beautiful treehouse. Price indication: €190 per night.

Plitvice Lakes National Park
This beautiful park has 16 emerald green lakes that are connected by waterfalls and rivers. It is the oldest and largest national park in Croatia, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 8 possible routes through the park, we chose route C from entrance 1. We paid 110 euros admission for 2 adults and 2 children (excluding parking) and entry tip: we brought our own lunch, the dining options are not our thing and very expensive.

Restaurant Petro
We ended day 5 in the super cozy restaurant 'Petro'. Rastoke itself is known for its well-preserved mills, the many waterfalls, and the Slunjčica river that meets here with the Korana river. In the 17th century, the first flour mills were built here. These were among the first mills powered by water, so it's definitely worth taking a stroll through the village.

Walk along the Korana River
After loading up to continue traveling, we first take a nice walk. From the Tree Elements cottages, you walk straight to the Korana River. The walk is marked with arrows. It's tough when you go back up, that's for sure ;-).

Željava Aerodrome
Once the home base of the Yugoslav army, now a playground for speed demons and urban explorers. A strong piece of history where you definitely need to stop for a moment.
