In 2009, the centenary of Kiewit Airfield (on the border of Hasselt and Zonhoven) was celebrated, making it the oldest airfield in Belgium and even in Europe. Powered flight and gliding are the core activities of Aero-Kiewit. Visitors are always welcome, either in groups or individually. From the cozy terrace, you can closely follow the flying activities. Gliding is also practiced at the airfield, offering a silent flight over Hasselt with stunning aerial views of the city. The Albatros Gliding Club has a modern fleet and also offers introductory flights. It’s an ideal way to peacefully enjoy Zonhoven and Hasselt from above!
