Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur
We also returned to Kuala Lumpur at the end of our holiday, giving us the chance to enjoy the city from a different perspective. In this section, I’m sharing the experiences from those final days, when we wrapped up our Malaysian adventure with some unforgettable highlights in the capital.

Lunch @ LaGula by The Hungry Tapir
For lunch in Kuala Lumpur, we headed to LaGula, a trendy vegan spot run by the same owner as The Hungry Tapir, where we had enjoyed an amazing dinner at the start of our trip. Knowing how delicious that meal was, choosing LaGula for lunch was an easy decision. The restaurant has a modern, hip vibe, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for a midday break. The menu is fully plant-based, featuring creative and flavorful dishes that prove vegan dining in KL can be both exciting and satisfying. Each plate was beautifully presented and packed with taste, making it a lunch we truly savored. LaGula perfectly reflects Kuala Lumpur’s growing vegan food scene and is a must-visit for anyone looking for a stylish, plant-based dining experience.

Wandering through Bukit Bintang
Exploring Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur’s upscale district, gave us a captivating blend of luxury and street life. We started our walk past Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the glamorous shopping mall anchored by international designer brands and upscale dining venues, its sleek exterior and grand interiors embody the polished side of Bukit Bintang. Just a short stroll away, the scene transformed completely as we wandered down Jalan Alor, the vibrant street famed for its Chinese hawker stalls. Here, the air was rich with the scent of grilled seafood, spicy noodles, and local specialties hawked from open-air stalls. It was alive with energy and full of sights, sounds, and flavors. Walking through felt like diving into Kuala Lumpur’s authentic street culture. Our Bukit Bintang wander was the perfect way to see both sides of the city, from high-end shopping at Pavilion KL to the lively local streets of Jalan Alor.

Dinner @ Orbit (Kuala Lumpur Tower)
We ended our Malaysian adventure with a truly memorable dinner at Orbit Restaurant, located high up in the Kuala Lumpur Tower (Menara KL). We booked our table well in advance and reserved a window seat, absolutely worth it for the breathtaking views of the city skyline as the sun set. The restaurant operates on a buffet system, but it’s far from ordinary. The selection was chic and high-quality, featuring dishes like fresh oysters, international cuisine, and beautifully presented desserts. Water, coffee, and tea were included in the price, while other beverages came at an additional cost. The highlight, apart from the food and views, was the rotating dining platform. Over the course of two hours, the floor completed one full rotation, giving us a 360° panorama of Kuala Lumpur without ever leaving our seats. It was an unforgettable experience and the perfect way to end our trip, a mix of fine dining, stunning views, and a touch of magic high above the city.
