Day 6 - Marbella and a taste of tradition
Curiosity led us to Marbella, just a half-hour drive away. We’d never been and wanted to see what the buzz was about. Truth be told, it wasn’t really our scene... a bit too polished, a bit too crowded. So we happily returned to our quiet Alhaurín. By mid-afternoon we were starving, and Casa la Abuela came to the rescue. As the name hints (“Grandma’s House”), the menu was filled with traditional dishes with a modern twist: tartar de solomillo, morcilla frita, and buttery brioche creations, all paired with a refreshing tinto de verano. The rest of the afternoon slipped away in a blissful poolside nap under the soft Andalusian sun.
