Albania
Day 8: Himare
Today is all about discovering hidden beaches. You’ll visit three beautiful spots that are a bit harder to reach, but definitely worth the effort. If you’re not comfortable driving Albania’s narrow roads, you can also join a boat tour from Himare to visit these beaches.

Livadi Beach
Start the day at Livadi Beach, the longest stretch of beach in Himare. It’s wide and open, so even in the high season, it rarely feels too crowded. It’s a great spot for a beach walk, a relaxed swim, or just stretching out in the sun. It’s the perfect place to start your beach day!

Aquarium Beach
Next up is Aquarium Beach, our favorite beach in Albania. This hidden cove is surrounded by rocks and green hills and has some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen. It feels like a secret paradise. It’s a small beach, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or even cliff jumping if you’re up for it. There are no real facilities here, just one small kiosk with overpriced snacks and drinks. We recommend bringing your own water, food, towels, and maybe a beach umbrella for shade.

Gjipe Beach
Last is Gjipe Beach, one of Albania’s most unique beaches. To get there, set your GPS to Gjipe Beach Parking, not the beach itself. You’ll drive a narrow road, park for 400 LEK (€ 4), and then walk about 20 minutes on a rocky trail. The path isn’t too hard, but decent shoes are a good idea. Once you arrive, you’ll find a sandy beach tucked between dramatic cliffs, right at the edge of Gjipe Canyon. It’s quiet, remote, and one of the most peaceful beaches on the Riviera.
