Day 14: Tirana
Depending on the time of your flight, you might still have a few hours to explore Tirana. We’ve included a great spot for some last-minute souvenir shopping and one more delicious lunch to end your trip on a high note.
Stroll through the New Bazaar
The New Bazaar is a colorful outdoor market filled with stalls selling fresh produce, spices, souvenirs, and more. It’s the perfect place to pick up some last-minute gifts or treats to take home. When you’re done shopping, grab a seat at one of the nearby cafés or restaurants and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
Visit Tirana Castle
Tirana Castle isn’t much of a castle anymore, only the old fort walls remain. But inside, the space has been transformed into a cozy pedestrian area with restaurants, bars, and small shops. It’s a great place for a drink, a relaxed walk, or a little more souvenir browsing before heading to the airport.
Lunch at Tartuf Shop
Inside Tirana Castle, you’ll find Tartuf Shop, a restaurant that specializes in truffle dishes. Everything is made with fresh truffle, and yes, they grate it right in front of you at the table! The food is amazing, and it’s a perfect way to wrap up your time in Albania.
