Day 1: City strolls

This day is all about soaking up iconic views, wandering through vibrant neighborhoods, and trying food so good it’ll stay on your mind long after the weekend ends.

Day 1: City strolls
A relaxed weekend in London

Start your day with coffee and a Big Ben view

There’s no better way to kick off the day than with a good coffee and an even better view. One of our favorite spots to do just that is 2 Love Coffee, a small cart tucked along the River Thames. It’s simple, low-key, and has the best backdrop in the city: Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster. We grabbed a vanilla latte and a pistachio canapé, found a spot to sit along the river, and just enjoyed the surroundings.

Walk along the National Covid Memorial Wall

Right next to the coffee cart, you’ll find the National Covid Memorial Wall. We hadn’t planned to visit it and honestly didn’t even know it was there, but we’re so glad we took the time. The wall stretches along the river, filled with thousands of hand-painted hearts, each one representing someone lost to COVID-19 in the UK. It’s powerful and emotional, but also really peaceful.

Chinatown, United Kingdom

Wander through Chinatown

Your next stop is Chinatown. You’ll know you’re close when you see the red lanterns and smell something amazing. To be honest, this whole area is amazing: super colorful, busy in the best way, and packed with great food. We recommend making a stop at Bun House. Their buns are incredible, especially the chicken bun with coconut curry. Grab a couple and eat them as you explore! For a fun and sweet recommendation you can also go for the custard bun, but be careful as it’s really easy to spill some of it. 😉

Neal's Yard, United Kingdom

Stop by Neal’s Yard

Neal’s Yard is a small alley that feels like it’s straight out of a fairytale. Think bright colors, hanging plants, and little cafés tucked into corners. It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but we love how hidden it feels. Take a few photos, browse the shops, or have a coffee. It’s the kind of spot that makes you fall a little more in love with London. It’s located in the heart of Covent Garden, an area known and loved for its vibrant atmosphere and shopping.

Dinner at Seven Dials Market

For dinner, head over to Seven Dials Market. It’s an indoor food hall with something for everyone: pad thai, burgers, pizza, and even delicious cheese served on a conveyor belt (yes, really). The space is cozy, there’s plenty of seating, and it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed evening. We came back a couple of times and it never fails to amaze us.
