COMO Cocoa Island felt to me like one of the most serene places I have ever been. As soon as you set foot on this small island in the Maldives, everything falls away. No hustle, no glitter, just peace, simplicity, and refinement... exactly as you dream it.
The resort consists of just a handful of villas on stilts above the water, inspired by traditional dhoni boats. Our villa was light, elegantly decorated in natural tones, and opened directly onto a wooden deck with steps down to the turquoise lagoon. Every morning began with a dip in warm, crystal-clear water and the sound of gentle waves beneath our feet.
Breakfast is served à la carte, quietly and refined. Think fresh papaya, coconut water, avocado toast, and Asian specials, all with a view of the ocean. What I particularly appreciated about COMO Cocoa Island was the sincere simplicity. No unnecessary luxury, but everything that is there is perfectly chosen and feels thoughtful.
We did yoga on the beach, enjoyed the tranquility at the COMO Shambhala spa, and snorkeled right off our villa among colorful fish and even baby sharks. Everything on the island invites you to slow down, breathe, and enjoy.
COMO Cocoa Island is for those seeking discreet luxury, natural beauty, and total relaxation. It is not spectacular in an ostentatious way, but that is precisely what makes it so special. A place where you truly come home in silence.
