The charming city of Colmar in the French Alsace region is an ideal destination for a short break or stopover. If you have only one day or even only a couple of hours to explore, the official Tourist Trail offers the perfect route to discover all of the city's highlights by foot. We parked our car at Place Rapp, which is part of the tour, and found this to be a great - and affordable - point of departure. The entire route will take you about 2-3 hours, depending how many pictures you'll undoubtedly want to take. Make sure to reward yourself with the best macaroons from Maison Alsacienne de Biscuiterie!
