Caín de Valdeón: Ruta del Cares Hike

The Ruta del Cares is a popular 23 km trail (one way) through a dramatic gorge. Start in Caín de Valdeón and walk a few kilometers if you prefer a shorter hike. I walked up to kilometer 6 and back, and the path is relatively flat and easy to follow. Avoid the expensive taxis often used by hikers for the return trip. Instead, plan a round trip if you’re not doing the full trail. I stayed overnight at Casa Tino's parking.
