Scooter rides, waterfalls & night markets
Our second day in Langkawi was all about adventure and exploring the island at our own pace. With a rented scooter, we set off to visit a refreshing waterfall, took a scenic cable car ride with breathtaking views, enjoyed some time by the sea, and ended the day wandering through a lively night market filled with local flavors and souvenirs.

Seven Wells waterfall
We reached the Seven Wells Waterfall by scooter, paying a small entrance fee to access the park. From there, we took a short walk to the falls and were pleasantly surprised to find it almost empty, just us and one other couple. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a refreshing dip in the clear water. Facilities like toilets were available, making it easy to change into swimwear if needed. Curious monkeys wandered around, adding to the tropical vibe, and the whole experience felt incredibly calm and relaxing, a true hidden gem before the crowds arrived.

Langkawi skybridge cable car
After exploring the waterfalls, we scooted over to the Langkawi Cable Car at Oriental Village. We chose the SkyCab gondola ride, known as one of the world’s steepest cable cars with a gradient of about 42°, soaring up Gunung Machincang, truly an exhilarating journey. The ride lasted roughly 15 minutes and included a stop at the middle station, where we admired views of the lush rainforest and even glimpsed the Seven Wells waterfall below. At the summit, 708 meters above sea level, we stepped onto two circular viewing platforms that offered sweeping 360° panoramas of the jungle, coastline, and on a clear day, even southern Thailand in the distance. We then walked across the iconic Langkawi SkyBridge, a 125-meter curved suspension bridge supported by a single pylon, hanging about 660 meters above the valley. Some sections have glass flooring, adding excitement to the unforgettable views below.

A refreshing dip at Pantai Kok
In the late afternoon, we headed to Pantai Kok for a refreshing dip in the sea, the perfect way to cool off after our hot visit to the cable car. The sunlight cast a magical golden glow over the water, making the scene feel almost unreal. The beach was quiet and peaceful, and we had plenty of space to enjoy the calm surroundings. After our swim, I took a relaxing walk along the shore and found a few beautiful seashells to keep as little souvenirs of this serene moment by the sea.

Kedawang Night Market
On Tuesday evening, we visited the Kedawang Night Market, one of Langkawi’s rotating night markets that take place in different locations each day. Visiting a night market is an absolute must, you get to stroll among the locals and truly soak up the authentic Malaysian atmosphere. We sampled a little bit of everything, tasting various local specialties fresh from the stalls, which made the experience even more fun and flavorful. The market is also a fantastic spot for photography, with colorful stalls, vibrant lights, and lively street scenes all around. Exploring Kedawang Night Market gave us a genuine taste of local life in Langkawi and is something we’d recommend to anyone visiting the island.
