Wake up in your cosy room at Hotel Totem, enjoying the view on the street. Have breakfast here or in one of the neighbouring bars to get fueled for the day!

Thrift shopping in El Rastro

Get lost in the streets of El Rastro, all filled with cosy vintage shops. The main street is nice, the side streets are GREAT! You just can't be here without scoring a beautiful new interior or clothing piece. Check out the secret tip for my favorite shop (found a Jean Paul Gaultier leather jacket there!).

Local tapas lunch at Los Tiernos

Did you know that you can recognize a great, authentic tapas bar by finding used napkins on the floor? That's apparently how it goes in Spain :-). Croquetas! They fill them with pieces of iberico ham and.. chickpea cream. Delicious!

Halla Madrid!

Once in two weeks, Real or Atlético Madrid plays a football home in their home stadium. You have to be lucky to get tickets, but if you can, definitely come and enjoy the atmosphere (and the match, of course ;) ). Looking for a place to eat beforehand? Then go for pizza at Grosso Napolitano.
