Castell de ferro, Spain

Catching some sun in Castell de Ferro

From Polopos you are on the beach in just under half an hour. We drove to Castell de ferro, a seaside village with azure waters and a cobblestone beach. We were there in the low season, which meant it was super quiet and a number of places (bars, restaurants, shops,...) were also closed. But it's just that quietness that attracts us while traveling. That's how you discover the real local hotspots. We ended up at Caferini, a corner café overlooking the sea, where we ate a classic when in Spain: tostada con tomate y atun. And, of course, a delicious coffee. You'll have to deal with the flies, because there is a lot of agriculture going on in the area. Furthermore, we walked into the center, along steps that lead you a little higher. Narrow alleys where each house did its best to be the most beautiful. Think about lots of flower pots, plants, colors and plaques on the walls.
