Spain

Day 4 - Spontaneous road trip

Our plan for the day had been simple: books, pool, sunshine. But Andalusia had other ideas: clouds, clouds, and more clouds. Over breakfast we decided, why not chase the sun? Two hours later we were in Seville, greeted by blue skies and golden light. We wandered through the Metropol Parasol, then on to the breathtaking Plaza de España, a masterpiece built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, with its sweeping bridges and mosaic alcoves celebrating Spain’s provinces. A live flamenco performance broke out as we arrived, the clapping, the guitar, the passion, pure magic. When hunger struck, we ducked into a quiet side street and stumbled upon El Rincón de Alberto, a tiny tapas bar hidden among orange trees. Surrounded by locals, we feasted on stuffed mushrooms, turkey slices, ham croquettes, and a chilled tinto de verano. A perfect, unexpected day.
