Brunch at Surry Hills Coffee

Start your day at Surry Hills Coffee, located in the charming Palermo neighborhood. This Aussie-style brunch spot has that relaxed, cozy vibe that makes it the perfect morning hangout. The avocado toast is fresh and perfectly topped, the kind of breakfast that makes you think, "I could get used to this." 😉 But the real star? The cinnamon roll. It’s the perfect balance of crunch and doughiness, with just the right amount of frosting. After more cinnamon roll taste tests than we’d like to admit, this one truly stands out!

It’s a 30-minute walk to your next destination.

Explore Jardin Japones

After brunch, head to Jardin Japones. These Japanese gardens, among the largest in the world outside of Japan, have beautiful bridges, koi-filled ponds, and even a Japanese peace bell. It’s not all about plants and nature here, they also have a cultural center, a Japanese restaurant, and they often have exhibitions on display about Japanese culture. If you’re looking for some laid-back beauty in Buenos Aires, this is it!

Stroll through Parque El Rosedal

Continue your day in Buenos Aires with a refreshing walk through Parque El Rosedal, a sprawling rose garden lined with over a thousand varieties of roses. This was one of our favorite places in all of Argentina, to be honest! When we read you could see a lot of roses here, we thought people were exaggerating. Let us tell you, they’re not! You can spot over 18000 roses here, crazy to even think about it. Not only is the quantity impressive, the colors are just as dreamy. You can wander the flower-lined paths, stop by the little lake where you’ll spot rowboats gliding along, and check out the gorgeous Andalusian patio. You’ll also find cute little ducks all over the park, waggling about their business.

A 15-minute walk to get to your lunch spot of the day.

Lunch at Pastificio Olivetti

For lunch, head to Pastificio Olivetti, an incredible pasta spot just a quick hop from El Rosedal. This isn’t just any pasta place; Olivetti’s serves up fresh, homemade pasta that will make you seriously consider moving to Buenos Aires just to eat here every day. We would say that the menu is pretty small, but spot-on. You’ll only find around six pasta dishes on the menu, but they’re all oh so good. We went for the carbonara (delicious!) and the malfatti. If you’ve never heard of malfatti (we definitely didn’t), it’s made with spinach, ricotta, and a bit of flour, then shaped into little dumplings. They’re oh so good and will definitely fill you up! Plus, Pastificio Olivetti really gives off that authentic and warm, Italian vibe.

It’s a 40-minute walk or 15-minute ride to one of Buenos Aires’s most iconic landmarks.

Book browsing at El Ateneo Grand Splendid

Now that you’ve had your fair share of nature in the morning and a delicious meal, it’s time to lose yourself in a book (or a dozen) at El Ateneo Grand Splendid. Housed in a former theater, this bookstore is a magical place, with its original balconies, stage, and painted ceilings all still intact. It’s like wandering through a museum of books! Grab a coffee at the café on what used to be the stage to do some reading for the best experience!
