Sunrise at Bukit Merese
You can’t go wrong with a breathtaking sunrise at Bukit Merese. This low-key, local spot offers stunning views from every angle. On one side, you’ll see a serene bay where surfers catch the early morning waves, and on the other, the vast ocean spreads out before you. It’s absolutely not crowded with tourists, what we really liked was that we saw a couple of locals enjoying their Sunday morning here.

Breakfast at Bush Radio
After soaking in the sunrise, it’s time for breakfast. Bush radio is an absolute favorite among digital nomads in Kuta, which makes it a very lively place to get some work done or simply enjoy a delicious meal. Their menu has something for everyone, from classic avo toast to more adventurous options like mahi-mahi or chicken curry on home-baked sourdough. The vibe here is very cool and cozy, with wooden furnishings, comfy sofas, and vintage radios. If we didn’t have something very fun planned afterwards, you could easily spend a full day here!

Beachtime at Pantai Tomang-Omang
Next, take a trip to Pantai Tomang-Omang, a secluded beach that feels like your own private paradise. The journey there takes you over dirt paths and through grassy fields lined with palm trees and cows, but it’s all worth it when you arrive at this hidden gem. The beach has soft white sand, crystal-clear blue water, and unique black rocks that make it a photographer’s dream. While it’s not ideal for snorkeling, the waves make it a great spot for surfing. Just remember to pack your own food and drinks since there’s nothing available on-site. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy this private beach.

Dinner at Chili Restaurant
End your day with a local but amazing dinner at Chili Restaurant, our favorite spot in all of Kuta (or even Lombok in general). The concept here is simple yet delicious: choose from five flavors (chili, lemongrass, garlic, butter, or curry) and pair it with your choice of chicken, crab, prawn, or king prawn. We loved this place so much that we ended up coming back almost every night to try something new. The chicken curry and any of the lemongrass and garlic dishes were absolute standouts. With a five-star rating on Google Maps, you really can’t go wrong here!
