Greenwich – pronounced as “Gren-itch” – is a place we all remember from geography class. It is indeed the place where the prime meridian cuts through and to which all time zones on Earth refer. But this London suburb along the banks of the Thames is above all a place where time seems to stand still. The charming town center of Greenwich looks like a small English village, but one with a grand (maritime) past. You will find, among other things, an impressive maritime museum, a former hospital for sick sailors of the Royal Navy, and an antique three-masted ship called the Cutty Sark. These are just a few of the many attractions that make Greenwich a must-visit during a city trip to London.
