Namibia
Let’s start in Windhoek
Hello, Namibia! The land of epic landscapes, wildlife-filled safari parks, dramatic deserts, and hardly any people. Our journey kicks off in the capital, Windhoek. To be honest, Windhoek doesn’t have much to offer in terms of sights. So, we took the time here to pick up and get to know our car, stock up on supplies for the first few days, get a SIM card, and withdraw cash. Just the usual practical stuff that has to be done. But after that—let the real adventure begin! And oh yes, we kicked things off by staying in a glamping accommodation. A real gem!

Pick up your ride
We booked a self-drive 4x4 with a rooftop tent. Fully equipped and perfect for exploring the country. You’ll notice, although tourism in Namibia is still quite limited, you’ll come across many similar vehicles on your journey. It gives you the most freedom and the chance to truly camp in remote places. We also took out Self-drive Insurance, super cover.

Check in at Urban Camp
Glamping all the way! We stayed in an Explorer Tent at UrbanCamp, and that’s all we needed! A laid-back vibe, a bar and tiny pool to cool off, a beautiful outdoor shower (shared), and a delicious breakfast the next morning.

Dinner at Joe's Beerhouse
Joe's Beerhouse is close to the accommodation and was recommended to us right away. It has a great, lively atmosphere and is quite popular. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can even try crocodile, zebra, or other wild game on the menu 😳
