Albania
Our final day in Albania
We explored a bit more of Kruje, to finish off our day in Tirana, so we could discover Albania's main city at last.

Breakfast to get our final day started
We got breakfast at the same table as we ate the night before. So the views were immaculate once again, and the food matched that environment :-)

Bazaar and old town of Kruje
Afterwards we visited the bazaar of Kruje and walked through the old town. We had to pick up some last minute souvenirs (ofcourse ;-) ) and tried some final pastries aswell (ofcourse ;-) )

Finally discovering Tirana!
After 8 days in this crazy beautiful country, it was finally time to explore the main city. We had just one day here, but we were determined to make the best of it. We started off at a coffee bar (Hana Corner Cafe), for some tea and sweets. It just opened the week before and it was delicious.
Free walking tour Tirana
For those of you who are not familiar with free walking tours, let me explain the concept. Usually, in every bigger city in Europe, you have free walking tours with guides. They work with tips exclusively. You just book the tour online, show up at the arranged time and place, and get going. The guides are usually extremely passionate and have a great love for their city, so you get a well rounded tour with little anecdotes from the guide him of herself. I do it in every city I visit, so you understand the land and the culture, with some background, but not an enormous amount of historical information you immediately forget. After the tour, you should give the guide a tip, here we gave 1000 LEK pp to our guide Eri (10/10).

Dinner in one of the most recommended restaurants in Tirana
We had to wait in line to get in, because the place was so busy. Fortunately, it was already quite late after our walking tour, so the wait wasn't that long. It's safe to say this was one of the best meals I ever had. We had dinner in Era, which is located in Blloku (the place to be to have a night out). It's an Italian restaurant, but very different. We loved it.
