The Gambia
Day 1 - Brussels to Banjul
We took a direct flight from Brussels to Banjul with Brussels Airlines and got ready for a trip of 7 hours. Brussels - Gambia normally takes just 6 hours, but we made a very short pit stop to leave some people out at Dakar (Senegal). Before we knew it we were back in the air and arrived at Banjul 20 mins. later. The Brussels Airlines was so so friendly and even gave us a little sneak peak into the cockpit! Little girl dreams coming true. Bunja, our guide for the week, was waiting at for at the airport and took us to our first accommodation: Tamala Beach Resort. Tamala is located right at the coast line (Kotu Beach), providing us with sea view and the sound of the waves.

Flying from Brussels to Banjul
Our flight was scheduled at 12:30, perfect to start your day at ease and have a chill morning commute to the airport. Still got some time to get some snacks in! The flight itself was very comfortable with such a friendly crew. We got provided with snacks, drinks and meals throughout the flight. At the end we even got ice cream by the Belgium brand 'Ijsboereke!' The sure know how to make a girl happy.

Pick up and drive to the hotel
After landing, our guide for the week was waiting for us at the arrival gate. Bunja welcomed us and with another drive they drove us to our first accommodation. During the drive, Bunja already explained a lot about the country and gave us some history facts. Once arrived at Tamala Beach, we saw we would have a very comfortable stay. Tamala is located on the Kotu Beach, providing guests with a nice sea breeze, the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel had its own pool and restaurant for your breakfast, lunch and dinner.
