Sunrise at Sol de Mañana

You’ll begin your last day with a pre-dawn visit to the Sol de Mañana Geysers. The bubbling mud pots and sulfur-smelling fumaroles made us feel like we were on a different planet. Sure, the smell wasn’t the best, but to see the steam rise into the chilly morning air made it the perfect sunrise location. The early wake-up call was well worth it ;-)

Thermal baths and Salvador Dalí Desert

After the geysers, you'll have one hour to relax at the thermal baths before heading to the Salvador Dalí Desert. We totally get why it’s named that: the barren, otherworldly landscape looks like something straight out of a Dalí painting. So cool!

Visit Green Lagoon

The tour ends with a visit to the stunning Green Lagoon, set against the backdrop of Licancabur Volcano. The green color of the water is a striking contrast to the blue skies and volcano in the background. People that rather go on a 4-day tour instead of 3 will be happy to know that that tour includes a day-hike to the volcano you can spot at this place! If you choose to book with Andes Salt Expeditions like we did, you’ll have the option to continue to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, just 1-2 hours away, or return to Uyuni, which takes at least 5 hours.
