First things first: checking in!
You can’t visit Marrakech without staying in a riad. Riads are traditional Morrocan houses with inner courtyards and part of the Moroccan culture. The perfect way to fully experience the Moroccan culture! We stayed at Bliss Riad, located in the heart of the Medina. We were immediately sold by the minimalistic, bohemian interior. The rooftop terrace with pool was also a big plus! This riad has it all: a perfect location, friendly staff, beautiful rooms and a delicious breakfast.
Explore the souks
The souks (markets) are like a maze spread all over the city center. Here you can find literally everything: from food to silverware to leather goods and even interior decoration! Get ready to get lost and discover amazing places! We hope you practiced your bargaining with the taxi drivers, because you’ll be doing it here all over again. Be prepared to (fake) “walk away” to bring the price down when you do your souvenir shopping. Works (almost) every time!
Embark on a delightful 5-minute walk through the bustling medina of Marrakech, where you'll be surrounded by the fragrant aroma of spices and traditional Moroccan crafts. We estimate 5 minutes to get to the next point, so don’t get lost!
Lunch at Café des Epices
Our favorite souk is the one at the spice square (Place des Epices). You can also find a lot of restaurants and rooftops here, including Café des Epices. From the rooftop terrace you have an incredible view over the spice square. We also really love the interior of this place, the colours and design represent the traditional Marrakech style!

Stroll through the Jamaa El Fnaa square
No visit to Marrakech is complete without walking through the famous Jamaa El Fnaa square. This place is the heart of Marrakech and an experience like no other. At this fascinating place you can find countless stalls with spices, fresh juices and street food. Make sure to try one of those juices, they are delicious and really cheap! By night, the square comes to life with music, dancers, and artists. It is a lively place where all the city comes together! A must visit, and bonus points if you do it by night!
Take a delightful stroll back through the narrow streets of the medina for about 10 minutes to reach our final destination, a restaurant with a stunning rooftop bar. Get ready to savor delicious Moroccan cuisine and take in breathtaking views of the city skyline. We hope you're hungry!
Dinner at the beautiful rooftop restaurant L’Mida
L’Mida is a trendy, lovely rooftop restaurant with an amazing view of Marrakech. On the menu you will find Moroccan-inspired dishes and some tasty mocktails. The prices are reasonable, it isn’t the cheapest place but the spectacular setting and the delicious food are worth it.
